Sign up for CES snack carts
We’re bringing one of our favorite things back to the Center Elementary School: monthly snack carts!
Once a month, the PAC provides a snack cart for our teachers, administrators and school staff. Parent volunteers work together with another family to purchase the items and roll the cart around before school starts.
We are asking for two or three volunteers per grade, and we will run one cart per floor. You’ll start setup at 8 a.m. and start going through the halls at 8:15 a.m. When the students are settled in their classrooms at 8:45 a.m., we take the carts to the teachers' lounge so they can enjoy them throughout the day.
The carts will run on Sept. 29, Oct. 27, Nov. 17, Jan. 19, Feb. 14, March 15, April 12 and June 7. Sign up here.
In the past, these carts have included breakfast items such as bagels, muffins or donuts, fresh fruit, yogurt, iced coffee, juice and boxes of coffee. We usually provide milk, sweeteners, cups and plates. For later in the day, people have chosen prepackaged bags of chips, granola bars, cookies, seltzer waters or sodas. It helps if the items are ready for people to grab (with bagels, for example, it's much easier to have them precut to speed things up).
We encourage you to decorate your cart with a theme, have fun decorating it and coordinate your items to match the month you sign up for. We’ve played music in the past while going down the halls and had so much fun creating our themes. The staff has all loved this little token of our appreciation.
When purchasing items we ask that you get enough for 30 to 35 people per floor. You will work with your other volunteer to split the costs of the items.
